Whoever you are. Wherever you are on life’s journey. You are welcome at the First Congregational Church of Stockton. Services are Sunday at 10:00 am. Please join us.
We are a caring congregation, committed to Jesus Christ, with a welcoming spirit for all. We believe that each individual is important and that all come to faith through their unique experiences. We seek to live out God’s word found in scripture, looking to be an expression of God’s love in this world. Our doors are open to people of every race, age, ability and orientation. We do not have any test of one’s faithfulness, knowing that everyone is on a personal pilgrimage of faith and questioning. You do not need to be a member of First Congregational to participate in any of its services or programs.
Worship is the lifeblood of our congregation. Our services feature music, both traditional and contemporary. Our church choir and music director bring a spirit of joy to Sunday morning. Our Sunday morning services are live-streamed and archived on Facebook.
Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of each month. The table is open to all, as we acknowledge that it is Christ’s table, not ours.
First Congregational Church is an Open and Affirming member of the United Church of Christ. We are committed to following in the footsteps of Jesus, welcoming, accepting and loving others, regardless of race, culture, age, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, abilities and socio-economic status. We believe that the ecumenical spirit drives us to connect with all faith communities as children of God. We reach out locally through San Joaquin County Family Promise, the Stockton Family Shelter and St. Mary’s Dining Hall.
Come; join us as we strive to grow in faith and connect with our community.
